Want to see what a senior session with a Seattle Senior Photographer looks like? This blog is all about Ms. Akirah’s senior session we had in Downtown Seattle, and let me tell you, it was a blast! Akirah’s part of our Class of 2024 Last Forever Images Ambassador Team, and being on the team means you get some pretty cool perks—like having your senior photos taken by me!
All Senior Sessions Begin with Planning
So, picture this: every photoshoot starts with us sitting down and planning your senior session from start to finish. We get to know each other, talk about high school, plans after high school, and all the fun stuff Akirah’s is involved in outside of high school. She’s a total rockstar, balancing school, community, and family like a champ. Plus, did I mention she’s the president of her school’s Black Student Union? Talk about impressive!
Now, onto the fun part—planning Akirah’s senior session! She had these awesome ideas of having her senior photos taken in Seattle at Gas Works Park, Pike Place Market and the Olympic Sculpture Park. For props, she wanted to bring her skateboard and camera to her senior session. Of course, I said yes. Akirah left the meeting with a checklist of everything she needed to make her senior session be the way we planned. This included me booking her makeup artist, list of clothing and prop items and making sure parents were on board with all the ideas and plans.
Seattle Senior Photographer goes shopping with Client
Majority of my clients don’t know what to wear to their senior session. I love that I get to solve this problem for my clients by offering to go shopping with my clients at no additional cost. Prior to the day of shopping, we create a list of items and I pre-select stores that should have what we are looking for. Then we spend our time together shopping for what is on our list. In another blog, i’ll share more details about this experience.
Now, let me tell you about our shopping adventure. Akirah, myself, and another friend from Last Forever Images hit up Alderwood Mall to find her the perfect outfit. We were on a mission, and let me tell you, it was so much fun! After some searching, we stumbled upon Altar’d State, and guys, we hit the jackpot! Akirah ended up going from wanting to wear a white dress to rocking this awesome cowgirl look that was just perfect.
Day of Akirah’s Senior Sessionin Downtown Seattle
Fast forward to the big day—Akirah’s senior session! We started with Ms Akirah getting all dolled up by the one and only Dijanna of Raine Beauty located in Columbia City in Seattle, WA. After DJ, slayed Akirah’s makeup it was time for this Seattle Senior Photographer to meet Akirah at her first location Pike Place Market. We tried to take some pics at the gum wall (spoiler alert: it was too gross for photos, haha!), and ended up at the beautiful Magnuson Park. Talk about an adventure!
Now, I’ve got a little sneak peek for you—check out some of my favorite shots from Akirah’s senior session below:

I started taking photos as a way to bring healing to our world and tell the stories of the amazing human beings in my local community before they no longer could tell their story. Because, I didn't have that opportunity with any of my parents and grandparents, they passed in my early 20's.
Since 2019, I have fell more passionately in love for photography and storytelling but also my love for empowering young people in my community. So I decided to bring both passions together to create Last Forever Images.
...I was adopted at the age of 3 months by an elderly couple who didn't have the tools to raise a baby to be an empowered Black Girl living in Snohomish County. I didn't find my Black Girl Magic or learn to love my authentic self until my early-mid 20's.
I now believe my life long mission is to teach young people to find who they are and love themselves fully and to never let someone define who they are are who they should become.
